And Rockman 10 what the heck? I haven't even finished 9. /Fail =__,=lll
Probably a good chance the 3rd playable is Roll, and small chance to be Forte or Dr.Light (Hadouken..) But I guess we'll see.. In any case, the realtime-play section should be getting a lot of activities from it, so at least will be looking forward to a bunch of entertaining videos on release date!`・ω・

the longest post ever....5d's season 3 log [16 Dec 2009|02:13pm]

hj_hikari

水を得た蟹 (´∀`)

Finally caught up to latest 5d's (88)..
conclusion → Season 3 = evolved into GX

I thought this season actually did a damn good job with references to DM/GX, earlier episodes, official card game and ...even the video games?! Man, they either did their research, or the current writers really love the series to even know all this stuff. And of course, nicodouga comments made this season so much more lovable (as always!)

Seasonal things! [15 Dec 2009|06:46pm]

1. Nutcracker ballet, courtesy the National Ballet. I hadn't been to the new opera house/ballet space, and I'm quite impressed. I hadn't seen a live Nutcracker before (and it's been about 10 years since my previous, first, trip to the ballet), and I enjoyed myself. They used newish choreography, and the second act had some fantastic moments (and the first act had dancing bears and the best stage horse you've ever seen).

2. Cookies! [info]firstgold figures we made 17 dozen cookies last night, which is a feat considering I have one cookie sheet, a tiny oven, and a toaster oven that works miracles.

3. I finally finished the scarf for my grandmother's present. Rather than taking the gauge a half-step down I'd bumped it a full step up, and now it's probably far too long. It still seems to drape okay, but the increased gauge makes the edging not ripple quite right. That's a problem, because the pattern is called Ripple.

4. There is no #4.

5. I need to get socks on because I'm going to go see Ninja Assassin tonight. Woo!

Environmentalists has their worries that humans will snuff the planet out with CO2 created emissions…fine….than what about the massive Supervolcano under Yellowstone park? An article was written in the Sunday Insight about a 65km wide volcano mouth still actively/dormant, spewing out lovely steam geysers for travelers **aww such cute guise tactic. If the volcano does explode, it’ll pretty much blacken out half of United States and parts of Canada too. Interestingly enough, I remember reading about these “supervolcanoes” in last months’National Geographics..but in all honesty, super volcanoes has been documented within human history for centuries..we just forgot about them.

So after years of protesting, lobbying...all the nuclear waste has been removed from the sea...saved the penguins..carbon capture has captured the last bit of human created CO2....the Yellowstone caldera decides to give way and three years of darkness begins.

Hmm just to think about, maybe the road wasn’t meteorite strike, or nuclear devastation..it could have been a volcano **maybe it’s a good thing they didn’t put it in because it’ll be way too hokey for a father and son cannibal drama.

New word of the day: Ejecta

• In volcanology, particles that came out of a volcanic vent, traveled through the air or under water, and fell back on the ground surface or on the ocean floor. Ejecta can consist of:
1. Juvenile particles - (fragmented magma and free crystals)
2. Cognate or accessory particles - older volcanic rocks from the same volcano
3. Accidental particles - derived from the rocks under the volcano.

Okay, so I watched Monster Camp couple of weeks ago which left a dissatisfying taste in my mouth of how grand LARPing could be….so I went around the internet with my un-free time and found a cooler and even epic version of Monster Camp **psh Monster Camp seems like small fry compare to the battle shown on this trailer.

For the sake of pure uhmm..creepiness…these guys have a ballista! I want a home mounted ballista!

After doing some research, Darkon has around 100-300 or so players. Compare to the larger scale events held in Germany Drachenfest which glorifies 5000 players *imagine 2500 angry/passionate/yelling Germans swarming towards you with foam sticks….hold your ground hold you….fuck this! ***RUNS!

Sadly the Quebec base LARPing camp Bicolline only bosts 2000 players housed within a 140 hectares playground accompanied by 100 buidings.

With that said, Drachenfest seems so much cooler.

Move, part 2 [11 Dec 2009|03:34am]

ibneko
Did another 4 trips over 5 hours with a local zipcar. Now my new apartment is a maze of boxes, trash bags, and paper bags with handles (trash bags mostly because I was too lazy and didn't bother finding real boxes that might have made my life easier.

Probably looked like a crazy bag lady (err, boy) at points, when I was hauling multiple bags up to my new apartment.

Almost done now. There's just the backup bikes at the old apartment, and probably a few knick knacks I've forgotten. And there's trash I need to take out. So I'll be making a few more trips back there.

There's also some sort of bright, shiny tower closer to Menlo Park that I keep seeing from the Palo Alto Caltrain station. Probably a (really, really tall) christmas tree, but it's worth checking out.

Man, next step: sort, clean, and organize the new apartment. I also need a couch now that I actually have a living room-type place...

BITTER BITTER BITTER [09 Dec 2009|01:38am]

[ mood | aggravated ]

Alright I have to admit that my temper is at wickers end right now…even with afternoon naps to replace the lost sleep, I think I’m starting to react to loud popping sounds * the house is saturated with popping noise of nail guns and the continuous rumbling of idle trucks. For an entire week when I was doing the stop animation I’ve been exposed to more house noise than my parents combined together…..I need to get out of this house..away from noise…lol library..there are less noise in there.

I think my temper is starting to flare out in my cycling because I’ve become way more aggressive than I ever should be…especially with people cutting me off or deliberately tailgating me……For the past week I’ve actually kicked car doors and angrily knocked on some windows……not very Calvin like. At one point I nearly lost it and had to restrain myself from using the U-lock as a window breaking device.
* I was procrastinating today so I designed a saddle bag which would dispense 10 grams of C4 charges to tailgating vehicles, enough to just blow the engine block or disable the vehicle cold in its tracks.
** I’m not too sure but drivers are getting worse during the winter season or something! I try my best to stick with traffic rules and give the right of ways to cars..but even with that implement going on I seem to always find myself in tight situations.

At one point this week I nearly made a very bad remark at someone for being stupid…a remark that would’ve easily caused a shouting match.

**gahhh what’s happening to me!

First large move started [08 Dec 2009|03:32am]

ibneko
From my Palo Alto Apartment to San Antonio (officially Mountain View, 94040).

Driven by the failing washing/drying machine and the lack of internet at the old place, I've begun my move.

I think I did 5 trips over the 5 hours, moving about 15 of the 29 large items that had to be moved via car. (Zipcar! Toyota Matrix!)

Now I just need to organize all the smaller items into larger boxes to make moving stuff to/from the car easier. Once I do that, I'll probably get a zipcar again and make another set of 3-4 trips to bring the rest of my knickknacks over. (Mostly clothing, books, wires, and kitchen stuff.)

Total cost: $40 so far.

If I had $600,000 would invest in a UNICAT expedition vehicle? This practically self-contained vehicle can traverse it’s occupants around the globe at an almost limitless duration: The only thing holding you back is a 2000 mile fuel tank *twin 120 gallon fuel tnak which would cost you 800 bucks to fill up, basic maintenance, and the amount of food you can carry. Surprisingly there is an 8 kilowatt generator on board, augmented by three roof solar panels, and if that’s not cool enough a reverse osmosis water filtration plant.

Another awesome feature it has is a

Clearly Spartan living quarters was not included on the selection menu of the advertisement pamphlet.

Photobucket

After lusting the possibilities of what I can fill this truck/land yacht with, I have to wonder if I really need such luxury. Fine if I was in the middle of a desert I can see myself very hard pressed to live from the contents of my backpack like some minimalist vagabond would declare. THAN AGAIN…..if there was a zombie invasion I can modify it with a machine gun nest and a zombie plow.

**I googled ultimate survival vehicle and UNICAT came out on the search results. Critics were complaining that the vehicle needs more solar panels to survive killer cockroach infestation.

Bah, stupid rain... [07 Dec 2009|01:37am]

ibneko
So I went to UIUC this weekend to watch the J-net fashion show and hang out with friends there. Friends == quite good fun, although people are wandering off, sadly. Show was good - pretty much what was expected, although the skit could have flowed a tad bit better. But the Union ABC rooms have proper lighting rows now! So they can adjust the lights and position them to be more awesome and actually properly cover the stage. Probably with more lights too. *glee* Alas, I won't be back much more often to help out and make it look awesome.

Also, the freshmen are getting smaller. Or I'm getting older and bigger. Gawds, I hope it's not the latter.

Used United Premier status (I've somehow managed to fly over 25K miles this year. Probably due to the trip to Taiwan) to board planes as zone 1. Unsuccessfully tried to standby for an earlier flight. Got to and from Chicago with the help of Denise and her boyfriend, John.

And due to my own incompetence, I completely forgot about my return time and ended up getting a flight that landed 15 minutes after the last caltrain left. So, having done a test run from Palo Alto to Millbrae (the sourthern-most point for the BART (subway) on this side of the bay), taking about 18 miles, 2-3 hours, I decided it was quite doable. With this in mind, I brought my bike via caltrain to Millbrae and left it at the caltrain station.

Unfortunately, I completely failed to factor in the possibility of weather. 'cause, you know, we don't usually get weather here. It's just sun. Nice sun. Sometimes a confused cloud or two. And in the rare occasions, it rains. Very rare.

So I landed. And cursed at the drippy skies. Deciding I still didn't want to pay the stupid cab fare, nor did I want to bother friends up in SF, or call up my senpai down in Mountain View, I decided to tough it out, be a guy, etc. Swinging by the local Walgreens, I picked up a poncho and got started.

Am home now. Everything below the knees was wet. And my face and glasses. But otherwise, not too bad. Just uncomfortable.

And this time it only took me 2 hours and 15 minutes. 18 miles in the rain. Whee.

(Hmmm, looks like my downstairs neighbor has moved out. Don't see their wifi access point anymore. Poo. Borrowing one named "Metaverse", but I guess this means I really need to complete my move to the new apartment which has internet, but doesn't have a bed or other slightly less important stuff...)

the reviews mean nothing w [07 Dec 2009|12:47am]

hj_hikari
Almost bought into those low score reviews for DS Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon saying something like "terrible game, not recommended for first-time player because it's an NES remake/the story sucks/gameplay is outdated/too hard!.."
Turns out it was one of the most engaging games I've played and still have that classic feel, (not to mention several crowning orchestration of awesome!) You get to recruit enemies/neutral parties, and killed allies are gone forever if you don't start over the battle, so it kind of force you to think about what to do and not just throw all your characters at the enemy army. I guess FE fans(?) are doing themselves a disservice by telling people not to try it, or something ' A `). Probably will end up getting the gba/wii ones next (with glorious reviews) to see how much better they really are. ..=_,=

Oh and apparently, this unimportant guy from the game use to have this interesting look in the snes sequel, lul.
